Nihad Basic completed his first season as an Assistant Coach for the Castleton University men’s soccer team in 2017.  Basic, a 2017 graduate of Castleton with a degree in Sports Administration, started in 34 career games over 2 seasons for the Spartans after transferring from Johnson State College.  During this span, he scored 7 goals, including 2 game-winners, and added 3 assists.  An unfortunate injury cut short his senior season, when he was a starting central midfielder.  At Johnson, he started in 28 games over 2 seasons for the Badgers as a midfielder, scoring 4 goals.

A standout high school player for Burlington High School, he also played club soccer for Capital SC, Far Post SC, and Synergy FC.  Basic is a native of Burlington, VT and is pursuing a Masters degree in Sports Leadership at Castleton.
