Emmitt Ackerman enters his first year as an assistant coach for the Spartans in 2019. A 2015 graduate of Castleton University, Emmitt was a goalkeeper for the Spartans under legendary CU Athletic Hall of Fame Coach John Werner. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Sports Administration and put his degree to work in both the Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles organizations as a minor league clubhouse manager.
During his time working in Major League Baseball, he was also an Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Ohio Northern University in the off-season where he trained their goalkeepers as well as coached the reserve team.
Locally he was the Assistant Coach at his alma mater West Rutland High School for 4 seasons where he was a standout student-athlete himself for the Golden Horde. He also served as goalkeeper coach for IMX Soccer Club in West Rutland, VT.

A native of Rutland, VT, Emmitts responsibilities for the Spartans include daily training of the goalkeepers, on-field coaching, practice planning, recruiting, scouting and game preparation. He holds a United Soccer Coaches Level 1 & 2 Goalkeeper Diploma.
