Coach Bucksbaum returns to Summit FC as a product of the Rutland County youth and high school systems, serving both as a coach and as a role model for athletic and academic achievement for our players.  In his second season with Summit, he takes over as the U10 Boys head coach in 2018.

Brendan is no stranger to what Summit has to offer young players eager to learn the game and develop their skills.  He began playing soccer in the Rutland Recreation Department Saturday morning program, moved on to Barstow Youth Soccer, and then joined the Rutland County Soccer Club (now Summit FC).  He played high school soccer at Rutland High School, where he was a 3-year starter and captained the team as a senior.  After his time with RCSC, Brendan joined the Synergy Football Club, where he competed in the USYSA Region I League, and won the Vermont State Cup, for which his team earned a bid in the Region I Tournament of Champions in Virginia Beach, VA.  Brendan was recruited by, and played 2 years of soccer for, Hamilton College (NY) of the prestigious New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), before his career was cut short by injury.

Coach Bucksbaum also has 3 years experience as an alpine ski racing coach at the U10 and U12 levels.  Presently, he is a math teacher and U14 ski coach at the Killington Mountain School.  He holds a US Soccer Federation “F” License.
